ARTISTS
Geanina Zaharia
I'm a Romanian artist who loves creation, imagination, colors, peace, and beauty in art. I have studied different techniques of arts throughout years such as illustrations, portraits, art compositions, traditional techniques (pencil, ink, painting), digital techniques (2D illustration, graphic design), and also 3d modeling and animation in Autodesk Maya for my art degree. Now I'm trying to find my own path and create something beautiful using all information I learned these years!
My focus is at the moment to graphite pencil portrait drawings and realism, this is what I did in the last two years and still working in this area.

Geanina Zaharia is available for private bookings

Title or Location: Panther
The panther symbolizes courage, valor and strength! In the picture, in the eyes of this incredible animal you can see yellow-blue reflections that reflect the flag of my native country of Ukraine, which is now going through difficult times, but does not give up and continues to valiantly fight for its freedom just like a brave panther.

Title or Location: Spectacular Sunbeams
Part of the Majesty Series, "Spectacular Sunbeams" is a 30" x 24" acrylic painting created from a friend's photo taken in Maine. While this piece can simply be viewed as an aesthetically pleasing composition, if one looks more deeply, they may internally be drawn in to a deeper message.A yellow sky often indicates there is a winter storm brewing during a relatively warm day. As the sun confidently emerges among the clouds , its spectacular sunbeams illustrate just how far the Light can reac

Title or Location: The Dream
I took a hiatus from painting for many reasons, one of them being I didn?t think I was good enough. I reconnected with my passion about 10 years ago and one of my childhood friends asked if I would donate a painting for his benefit. It sold for $5428.00 and all of it went to Cardiac & Vascular research for Methodist Hospital! Since then I?ve been in over 16 auctions and have raised thousands of dollars for amazing causes. I am currently working on a children?s book and am grateful for my pas

Title or Location: Momma Moa
This oil painting titled ?Momma Moa? is from my EXCELLENT BIRDS: EXTINCT Series. I was inspired after researching the North American Passenger Pigeon and their tragic demise. Momma Moa shows just a lower leg of the adult female as if it were a tree, with two chicks playfully trailing behind. The chicks would have stood as tall as a six year old child.By the time Captain Cook reached the Islands of New Zealand, the Giant Slender Moa was, or very nearly was, extinct. Few Europeans claimed to ha

The owner told me that she wanted something fun, relaxing, and beautiful to adorn her shed. She pointed out the she especially hated the electric meter. About 1/2 way across painting on the shed, she came out with ice tea and asked if I could also include the Blue Ridge Mountains. So, I made the building end (made a corner) and then added some blue ridge mountains off in the background. Finished product has feelings of Greece with Blue Ridge mountains, making it a true fantasy piece!

I saw a similar piece somewhere and decided to try this style as opposed to charcoal portraiture. Oils on canvas. A very different path to choose. But I'm loving it so far.

Karina Petrova (b. 1983, Ukraine) lives and works in Ballymena, Northern Ireland. She lives surrounded by nature, and in nature she finds the greatest source of inspiration to create art that "evokes positive emotions in people".Her characters are various and unique, embedded into the landscape that flows through and around them. They are the inventions of her imagination, but they are also visions of a world in harmony. For Karina, the act of creation is a healing process which unl

I painted this recently from a photo I took during a Friends Weekend several years ago. We stopped our bicycles on the bridge and snapped a few photos. The icy cold water was a brilliant blue from the mineral content. The Pine River flows into Vallecito Lake near Bayfield and Durango.
